Expressive Futures Workshop
You don’t have to call yourself a “poet” to belong here.
If you’ve ever had something to say but couldn’t find the words — or found the words but never said them out loud — this workshop is for you. Expressive Futures is a free space for teens and young adults to write, create, and be heard, no experience necessary.
Maybe you’re dealing with stress, feeling disconnected, or just going through a lot right now. Maybe you’ve always been curious about poetry but felt like it wasn’t “for you.” Either way, come as you are. All you need is your own voice and a willingness to explore it.
Every Sunday in August
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
FREE to attend
Clearbrook Center of the Arts, Lake Ridge, VA
In this workshop, you’ll get to:
- Write poetry and discover what your own words can do
- Say what you’re feeling in a space built to hold it
- Build confidence through creativity and self-expression
- Connect with other young people navigating their own stuff
Your Facilitator: Kim B Miller
Kim is a Teaching Artist with the Virginia Commission for the Arts, Manassas Park’s Poet Laureate Emerita, and an award-winning spoken word poet. She’s spent years helping people find their voice through poetry — and she’s ready to help you find yours.
