Artist in Residence

Meet our 2024 Artist in Residence: Amanda Lin.

Amanda Lin is a somatic-based abstract artist who uses movement and awareness of body sensations to explore the unconscious mind and express stored trauma in the body. Based in Arlington, VA, Amanda works with a variety of mediums using a multilayered approach to find balance in mind and spirit. Taking inspiration from the physical medium itself as well as the intangible “materials” of the unconscious, Amanda believes in creating work that is energy dense and imbued with a part of herself. As a result, each piece is one of a kind and the manifestation of the artist’s mind at the time of creation.Amanda Lin is a somatic-based abstract artist who uses movement and awareness of body sensations to explore the unconscious mind and express stored trauma in the body.
