DESCRIPTION:You don’t have to call yourself a “poet” to belong here.\nIf you’ve ever had something to say but couldn’t find the words — or found the words but never said them out loud — this workshop is for you. Expressive Futures is a free space for teens and young adults to write, create, and be heard, no experience necessary.\nMaybe you’re dealing with stress, feeling disconnected, or just going through a lot right now. Maybe you’ve always been curious about poetry but felt like it wasn’t “for you.” Either way, come as you are. All you need is your own voice and a willingness to explore it.\nEvery Sunday in August\n3:00 PM – 4:30 PM\nFREE to attend\nClearbrook Center of the Arts, Lake Ridge, VA\nIn this workshop, you’ll get to:\n\nWrite poetry and discover what your own words can do\nSay what you’re feeling in a space built to hold it\nBuild confidence through creativity and self-expression\nConnect with other young people navigating their own stuff\n\nYour Facilitator: Kim B Miller\nKim is a Teaching Artist with the Virginia Commission for the Arts, Manassas Park’s Poet Laureate Emerita, and an award-winning spoken word poet.
